…although, the living version at the very end of DN2 had personality traits closer to the undead version (again, just take my word for it), so HE may have been -5:homosexuality, +365:batshit-crazy too. But the one that was playing with the kids on the street (did I even remember to write that scene? somebody check real quick) and the one that ran the daycare center in the alternate Crusade universe were gay.

That was more than just a cameo appearance, btw. My intention was that Crusade-Filkus would be driven insane by the stress of what he witnessed and… well… you can take it from there.

DarkWells, the Dumbledore character in the Harry Potter books is gay, according to the author.

As for Filkus, perhaps I wasn’t specific enough. When I mentioned “both versions” I meant the version in December Nights 2 and the one in Crusade… when they were both alive. NOT the undead version that was running around killing people and using them as puppets. At that point, his interested in men (and women and anyone in between) was homicidal rather than sexual. Most of the time you saw Filkus, he wasn’t trying to have sex or fall in love with anything, male OR female. You only caught a glimpse of his human side twice and each time for only a second or two. And, both times, he was gay. If that doesn’t help, well, just take my word for it. He loved the children, but he loved the boys a lot more than the girls.

I think leaving N’doki’s punishment to the imagination does more than if it had been described. I also think N’doki is up to something else with Filkus, since he apparently resurrected him. Only time will tell.

I gotta go with Nate on this one. Simply being gay is nowhere near the same ballpark as being a sick, murderous pedophile. Sure, his mannerisms were reminiscent of a stereotypical gay dude in the story, but when I think of Filkus I don’t think “gay” I think “WTF?!”.

And I wish I could’ve seen how N’doki “made him pay” instead of it being off-camera… but then, maybe that’s for the best.

Maybe I meant “gay” as in “happy” because he certainly was happy!

You weren’t meant to be able to tell from the character’s actions; it’s just a bit of background. Just like, from what I can tell from the movies Dumbledore doesn’t seem gay.

Fletcher, no surprise there. Don’t have to worry about him anymore though, after what was done to him by whoever/whatever was in Eric’s body at the time.

Monica. I guess there’s not enough written about her to determine.

Filkus. You’re the author so what you say goes, but I personally don’t equate this sick pedophile with gay. Sick, twisted, demented, and other things but not with gay.

Well it was intended to sound ridiculous yet still possible. And coming right after the whole Dumbledore announcement was a dead giveaway. In fact, I took some of my wording directly from J.K. Rowling’s interview if you’ve read it.

For the Record… Dark Icon’s gay characters:
Fletcher from Beasts of Winter. Gay.
Monica Drew from the Tower Guard. Bisexual.
Filkus (both versions). Gay.

And that’s about it.

I’ve read a lot of DarkIcon stories and haven’t been involved in things like this. I like the thought of N’Doki being gay why did everyone think he was kidding before he said sometihng?

Yes this was my attempt to:
1) See if anybody was paying attention and
2) Make fun of JK Rowling’s announcement and the media coverage thereof.
