CotA: The End is Near!!

The remainder of the ongoing “Court of the Abominatrix” story consists of the scene that is currently underway, and a couple of extra-short sequences that SHOULD only be one page each. Certainly no more than two pages each.

Why am I telling you this?

One: Because people have asked how much story there is left to go, and now they have their answer. I can’t say how many weeks/days/pages there are left, but there won’t be very many.

Two: At a current wordcout of around 52,000 pages, the story has crossed out of the “short story” category and into that vague realm where “novellas” and “novelettes” roam. CotA isn’t quite a novel…. buuut it got me thinking. If I cleaned this baby up (you know… actual EDITING….) I might have a viable print product here. I mean ‘Print’ as in, ‘print on demand’, not as in traditional publishing. Perhaps if I packaged it with a couple (or all) of the ‘bonus’ stories from last year, I’d have a novel-length piece of work that I could get put into hardcopy. Would anyone be interested in something like that?

No hardcopy for me, the postage cost is prohibitive, and I would not pay in dollars to download something that I already read even if you edit.
But I am an exception, not the rule. This tale gives a nice book that I would probably buy, at least in paperback, if I lived in the same country as you.

I’m such a fan of your writing that I typically copy your stories into Word format and edit them myself where I see obvious issues. This is for my personal use only, so don’t ever worry about me trying to make a buck off of them. Even when I try to interest others in your stories, I do so by sending them a link to this site.

No worries nate. I do the same thing myself. Every stories that DI has on here, and even some he doesn’t I have on my hard drive. I started doing it some years back when the site would have a tenancy to crash. It was kind of my own insurance policy for his stories. Pretty much to ensure that I would be able to still read them if the site ever went down and we never saw him again.

But I never try to pawn them off as my own. I’m not that good of a writer and my friends know it. Plus my wife is a fan along with my daughter as well. So if I was a bastard that need his head kicked in a few time, it wouldn’t work, because my friends know DI’s stuff. So you can rest easy DI, knowing that your work is safe. lol.

Plus yes, I do edit them as well. But only for my own reading.
