It’s a new month, so that means it’s time for a new bonus story, for people who donate $5.00 to the site.
It’s back to horror this month. “The Text” has a Lovecraftian feel to it, and it may remind you of “In the Mouth of Madness” a little. That’s intentional.

A bunch of unlikable, “young but still old enough to know better,” characters (with their associated drama) find themselves in an abandoned plague hospital for children, where the ghost of a murderous “plague doctor” proceeds to pick them off one by one. That’s essentially what the back of the box says, so even before you put the disk into the player you already know that you’ve seen this movie about 4000 times, with various titles. “House on Haunted Hill” anyone? Hello? Anyone?
So this one doesn’t have the most original premise in the world. Maybe this is one of those films that takes a tired story and actually does it better-

I randomly encountered a cool webcomic yesterday: The Zombie Hunters. It’s a standard post-apocalyptic zombie survival tale, with some interesting twists (among them, multiple types of zombies). There is a fair amount of humor and a touch of cuteness, but mostly it’s shaping up to be an interesting story. I liked it, maybe you will too.

note about the beginning: The first few “pages” are interspaced with text that is meant to work like the “opening credits” of a movie, but ends up being quite annoying. AFTER That bit, the cool stuff starts..
